Ben comes from Talking Ben the Dog, part of the Talking Tom and Friends apps by Outfit7, where players could talk to the grumpy brown dog and hear him repeat words and laugh. Clips of his Ho Ho Ho laugh spread through YouTube, TikTok and soundboards as a standalone reaction, separate from the app itself. Its popularity grew alongside other Talking Ben memes built around his short phone answers. People still reuse the laugh because it is instantly recognisable, very short and works without any setup or explanation.

Talking Ben's Ho Ho Ho laugh sound effect from Talking Tom and Friends, the short dog laugh used for funny reactions, pranks and meme edits online.
This is Talking Ben delivering his signature Ho Ho Ho laugh in a low, flat and oddly cheerful tone. The short clip captures the brown dog character mid chuckle, with each Ho landing evenly and without much emotion, which is exactly why it feels so funny out of context. It lasts less than two seconds but lands instantly as a punchline. Viewers recognise the deadpan delivery straight away, and the contrast between the jolly laugh and Ben's grumpy expression makes ordinary moments feel like a joke has just been told at someone's expense.
