Big Chungus comes from a still of an unusually round Bugs Bunny in the 1941 Merrie Melodies short Wabbit Twouble, which resurfaced on Reddit in December 2018 and exploded into a full meme. Jokes about a fake PlayStation game, remixes and ironic worship of the chubby rabbit kept it alive for years. This laughing clip rides that same wave, circulating on meme soundboards as a shorthand for dumb, oversized confidence. It endures because the character is instantly recognizable and, unlike a sinister evil laugh, the joke needs no setup, just the image of a smug, massive cartoon rabbit.

A deep, goofy cartoon laugh from the Big Chungus meme, based on Bugs Bunny's chubby alter ego. Creators use it for ironic wins and absurd chonky pet edits.
This is a short, wheezy cartoon laugh tied to Big Chungus, the exaggeratedly round version of Bugs Bunny that became a massive meme in 2018. The laugh itself is low-pitched and bouncy, with a rumbling chuckle that stretches and wobbles like it is coming from a very large belly. It sounds goofy rather than menacing, landing somewhere between a classic Looney Tunes giggle and a smug villain chuckle. Dropped over a clip, it instantly makes the moment feel ironic and self-aware, as if a chubby trickster is amused by his own dumb victory.
