Chucky first appeared in the 1988 film Child's Play, voiced by Brad Dourif, as a doll possessed by a serial killer. Decades later the character joined Dead by Daylight in November 2023 as the killer known as The Good Guy, bringing his laugh and taunts into the asymmetrical horror game. Clips of his voice spread through streams, edits and soundboards because the contrast between a toy-like voice and a ruthless killer fits horror memes, reaction posts and short gaming montages perfectly.

Chucky laugh voice clip from Dead by Daylight, featuring the horror doll killer. Used in gaming edits, jumpscare memes and scary reaction videos.
This clip captures Chucky, the possessed doll killer from Dead by Daylight, with his unmistakable high-pitched, childlike voice twisted into a menacing laugh. The tone is playful at first, then sharp and threatening, which makes it instantly recognisable even without seeing the character. At around ten seconds it is long enough to build tension before a reveal or scare. Viewers familiar with the horror franchise feel an immediate chill, while others hear pure chaotic villain energy. It works because the cute doll voice clashes with the cruel intent behind it.
