The clip comes from the Clayton Bigsby sketch on the first season of Chappelle's Show in 2003, a mock news profile about a blind Black man who became a white supremacist author without knowing he is Black himself. Written and performed by Dave Chappelle, the sketch became one of the series most quoted pieces and circulated widely through reruns, DVDs and early online video sharing. The single word delivery survived as a standalone soundboard clip because it captures the sketch satire in a few seconds without needing the full setup.

Clayton Bigsby says niggardom in the Dave Chappelle sketch from Chappelle's Show, a short voice clip used for shocked reactions and meme edits.
This is a short voice clip of Clayton Bigsby, the blind Black white supremacist played by Dave Chappelle, delivering the word niggardom during the famous frontline sketch. The line is spoken in a slow, serious Southern drawl, as if he is explaining a solemn political idea, which makes the absurd premise even sharper. At just over four seconds it lands as a dry, deadpan punchline rather than a shout. Viewers hear the contrast between the formal tone and the ridiculous character instantly, and it works as a quick, uncomfortable laugh in reaction videos and edits.
