Pigs in Space was a recurring sketch on The Muppet Show, which ran from 1976 to 1981, parodying Star Trek and classic sci-fi serials. Set aboard the starship Swinetrek, it starred Captain Link Hogthrob, First Mate Piggy played by Miss Piggy, and Dr. Julius Strangepork. Each sketch opened with a booming announcer introduction that treated the voyage with complete seriousness. The segment became one of the show's best remembered running gags, and its intro is now reused online as a shorthand for goofy, low budget space adventures.

The iconic Pigs in Space intro sting from The Muppet Show, featuring the dramatic sci-fi announcer voice. Used for silly space and retro parody moments.
The clip is the dramatic opening announcement for Pigs in Space, delivered in a deep, echoing sci-fi announcer voice over a swelling, cheesy space theme. The drawn out delivery turns a farm animal into a grand interstellar mission, and that contrast is the joke. It lands instantly with anyone who grew up on variety show parodies, dropping a wave of mock seriousness over whatever is on screen. The sting is short, pompous and unmistakably retro, making a normal moment feel like the start of an absurd space adventure.
