Slava Ukraini, translated as Glory to Ukraine, developed as a Ukrainian patriotic salute in the early 20th century and is traditionally answered with Heroyam slava, Glory to the heroes. It became the official salute of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2018 and spread worldwide after 2014 and especially following Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. Heard at rallies, in speeches and across social media, the phrase became a compact expression of Ukrainian identity and resistance, which explains why short chant and song versions continue to circulate as shareable audio.
