This sound comes from Big Shaq’s “Man’s Not Hot,” a 2017 track that grew out of Michael Dapaah’s comedic character first heard on a radio freestyle. The “quick maths” section became one of the song’s most quoted parts and spread widely across YouTube, TikTok, and short meme edits. People still use it because the line is easy to recognize, easy to quote, and instantly communicates mock confidence. It often appears alongside other internet reaction staples such as awkward moment humor.
About this sound
The "2 plus 2 is 4, minus 1" quick maths line from Big Shaq's viral Man's Not Hot is used in memes, reaction edits and joke math clips.
This clip features the famous “2 plus 2 is 4, minus 1 that’s 3, quick maths” bar delivered in Big Shaq’s deadpan, rhythmic style. The line lands because it sounds confident while stating something obviously silly, which makes it perfect for ironic reactions and punchline edits. Creators use it to underline absurd logic, fake intelligence, or any moment where someone explains nonsense with total certainty. Even as a short snippet, the voice timing and cadence make it instantly recognizable to viewers who know meme culture.
