The line comes from Blizzard's 1996 action RPG Diablo, spoken by The Butcher, an early boss encountered in the cathedral dungeon. His sudden Ahh, fresh meat became one of the game's most quoted moments because it plays right before a notoriously difficult fight. Clips and recreations spread through gaming forums, YouTube edits and soundboards in the 2000s and 2010s, and the phrase stayed alive as shorthand for a villain spotting an easy victim.
About this sound
The Butcher's chilling Ahh Fresh Meat voice line from Diablo, used as a meme sound effect for creepy entrances, pranks, gaming edits and horror clips.
This is a short recreation of the deep, guttural voice line where a demonic butcher growls Ahh, fresh meat before attacking. The delivery is slow and menacing, with the first word drawn out like a satisfied sigh and the last two words snarled with hungry emphasis. At just over two seconds it lands instantly, turning an ordinary entrance or reveal into something threatening and darkly funny. Viewers recognize the tone immediately, even without seeing the character, which makes the clip work as a pure audio punchline.
