Bau bau comes from Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard, the twin dog-girl VTubers in Hololive English Advent who debuted in 2023 as the duo Fuwamoco. They use the phrase as their signature greeting, playing on their puppy characters and energetic twin dynamic. Clips spread quickly through stream highlights, fan edits and short-form videos, where the short bark became easy to recognise and reuse. Like tuturu, it works as both a fandom reference and a standalone cute reaction, understood even by viewers who do not follow Hololive closely.
About this sound
Bau Bau is the cute dog-like bark from Hololive VTubers Fuwawa and Mococo Abyssgard, known as Fuwamoco, used for anime reactions and playful edits.
This short clip captures Fuwamoco doing their signature bau bau bark, a high-pitched, puppy-like sound the twin VTubers use as a greeting and running joke. It is bright, bouncy and deliberately cute rather than realistic, with the repeated syllables landing like a little chant. Hearing it instantly signals playful, wholesome energy and tends to make viewers smile or reply in kind. The sound works because it is recognisable in under a second, even without any visuals, and carries the twins' cheerful personalities in just a couple of repeated notes.
