Bee Movie is a 2007 DreamWorks animated comedy about Barry B. Benson, a bee who sues humans for stealing honey, and its earnest premise and quotable script made it a long-running internet favourite. Online, fans turned the film into a meme format in its own right, reading out the script, remixing scenes and shrinking the whole story into impossibly short clips. This version follows that joke to its extreme, treating the entire movie as something that can be rushed through in seconds, which is why it still works as a quick reference for viewers who already know the film.
About this sound
A super-short Bee Movie clip squeezed into about three seconds, perfect as a quick punchline for memes, short-form edits and reaction videos online.
This clip takes the joke of the whole Bee Movie and crushes it down into barely more than a second, so what you hear is a frantic, high-speed rush of sound rather than a normal scene. Voices, music and effects blur together into a single breathless burst that is over almost as soon as it starts, which is exactly why it lands as a joke. Played on its own it feels absurd and unfinished, and played after a setup it works like a visual gag in audio form, leaving the listener surprised, amused and slightly confused about what they just heard.
