Belupacito grew out of two huge internet reference points colliding together. Despacito, released in 2017 by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, became one of the most streamed songs in the world, which made its melody perfect for parodies. At the same time, the Beluga cat character became a staple of Discord story memes on YouTube in the early 2020s. Fans combined the name and persona with the hit song, creating a short parody clip that spread through meme pages, soundboards and short form videos as a recognisable joke track.
About this sound
Belupacito is a short meme parody of Despacito linked to the Beluga cat, sung in a playful style and used for funny edits, chats and reaction videos.
Belupacito takes the instantly recognisable melody and rhythm of Despacito and turns it into a short, silly meme song tied to the Beluga cat persona. The clip keeps the smooth, catchy pop feel of the original but delivers it with a playful, internet humor twist that feels deliberately over the top. Because the tune is so familiar, listeners get the joke in the first second, even before the vocals settle in. It works as a light, goofy punchline that makes an ordinary moment feel like a dramatic, music video entrance.
