Bruce Almighty is a 2003 American comedy directed by Tom Shadyac, starring Jim Carrey as Bruce Nolan, a frustrated television reporter who is given God's powers for a week. Carrey's expressive delivery made many of his lines and reactions highly quotable, and short clips from the film later circulated widely on meme pages and soundboards. This laugh excerpt is shared as the almighty meme, reused detached from the plot as a quick audible reaction to jokes and mishaps, where recognition of Carrey's voice does most of the work.
About this sound
A short Jim Carrey laugh from the 2003 comedy Bruce Almighty, this lol sound is used as a reaction for funny, awkward or absurd moments online.
This is a brief burst of exaggerated laughter from Jim Carrey as Bruce Nolan, delivered with the manic energy that defines the character. The laugh starts sharp and rises quickly, sounding smug, delighted and slightly unhinged at the same time. It lasts only a few seconds but lands instantly, which is why it works so well as a punchline. Placed after a joke, a fail or an overconfident claim, it tells the viewer exactly how to react without any setup. The familiar movie voice makes even a simple moment feel bigger and more ridiculous.
