Lift Yourself was released by Kanye West in April 2018 and immediately went viral because, after a soulful intro, the verses collapse into repeated phrases like poopity scoop and whoopity scoop. The track became a lasting meme about trolling expectations in music, shared widely on social media and soundboards. This Bunk performance keeps that joke alive by singing the refrain straight, and the clip has been reused as a short reaction sound for moments where something hyped turns out to be completely meaningless.
About this sound
A 22-second clip of Bunk singing Kanye West's Lift Yourself, delivering the famous scoop and poop scat lines in a straight-faced vocal performance.
This clip features Bunk performing a cover of Lift Yourself, leaning into the song's deliberately absurd scat refrain instead of a conventional chorus. The vocal stays earnest and melodic while the words dissolve into repeated scoop, whoop and poop nonsense, which is what makes the delivery land as comedy. At about twenty two seconds it is long enough to let the joke build through several repetitions, but short enough to drop in as a punchline. Listeners recognise the contrast between the soulful backing style and the meaningless lyrics, turning a sincere sounding singalong into an instant meme moment.
