Reversed animal sounds have circulated in meme editing for years, with creators flipping familiar noises to make them feel alien and funny at the same time. This version takes the already loud format behind clips like chicken on tree screaming and runs it backwards, joining a wider library of scream meme sounds used on TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Discord. Because there is no speech or music, editors reuse it across languages as a universal sign that something has gone wrong, is haunted, or is far more dramatic than the scene deserves.
About this sound
A reversed chicken scream sound effect that turns a clucking shriek into a warped rising howl, used for cursed memes, jumpscares and absurd reactions.
This is a normal chicken scream played backwards, stretched into an eight second clip that sounds stranger the longer it runs. The familiar cluck and shriek lose their shape in reverse, turning into a rising, wobbly wail that dips and surges like something calling from underwater. It starts out funny because you can still hear the bird in it, then quickly feels cursed and slightly unsettling. That mix of farmyard silly and horror movie weird is why it lands so well as a punchline, catching viewers off guard without needing any dialogue or setup at all.
