The Cloaker is a special police unit from Overkill Software's Payday series, first appearing in Payday: The Heist in 2011 and returning in Payday 2 in 2013. He hides near objectives, charges with a distinctive whine, drop-kicks a heister down and beats them while taunting. Players turned his short voice lines into soundboard clips because the ambush became one of the series' most dreaded and parodied moments. This line survives in edits and streams as shorthand for an opponent who refuses to go down quietly.
About this sound
Payday Cloaker sound effect of the cloaked special unit taunting a resisting heister, used for fight scenes, gaming edits and sudden beatdown jokes.
This short clip captures the Payday Cloaker in the middle of a beatdown, delivering his line about a target putting up a fight while the struggle plays out. The voice is muffled and aggressive, filtered like in-game police chatter, with scuffling impact sounds underneath the speech. It lasts only about two seconds, so the whole joke lands instantly: someone underestimated an opponent and is paying for it. The tension between the calm, taunting delivery and the violent scuffle is what makes it funny when dropped over an unexpected fightback.
