Clown laughs have become a shorthand online for moments that are funny and unsettling at the same time, and this clip fits that trend because it stretches a familiar circus laugh far past a normal chuckle. Creators reuse it in short-form videos, horror parodies, and prank edits, where the exaggerated timing does most of the comedy work. Like other laugh clips, it is often dropped in after a reveal to signal that the joke was on someone else, and its popularity comes from how instantly recognisable the sound is, even without any visuals.
About this sound
A high-pitched clown laugh that stretches into a manic, wheezing cackle, used in memes and edits for scary jokes, prank reveals, and villain moments.
This is a long, exaggerated clown laugh that starts high and playful before sliding into a breathless, almost unhinged cackle that keeps going longer than expected. The voice is theatrical and cartoonish, with sharp inhales, rising pitch, and a wheezy edge that makes it feel both silly and slightly unsettling. It lands as a joke on its own, but in an edit it can turn a normal moment into something creepy or absurd, making viewers laugh while also wondering when the laughing will finally stop.
