This version is a user-made take on the familiar cough fart joke, a simple gag that has circulated online as a short fart sound for prank videos and meme edits. Because it is only about two seconds long, creators can drop it into reaction clips, gaming fails and everyday skits without slowing the pacing. Its appeal comes from the same contrast that makes the wider fart meme sound popular: a polite cough followed by something completely rude. Like other short fart clips, it keeps working because the joke is immediate, visual in its timing and easy to reuse.
About this sound
A short, funny sound effect that starts with a cough and ends with a fart, ideal for prank videos, meme edits, reaction clips and silly moments.
This short clip opens with a sharp, human cough that sounds like someone trying to cover something up, then immediately lets out a loud, unmistakable fart. The timing is what makes it work: the cough sets up a polite, everyday moment, and the fart breaks it in the rudest possible way. It lasts under two seconds, so the joke lands fast and does not overstay its welcome. The sound is crude, silly and instantly recognisable, and it usually gets a laugh because the contrast feels both surprising and familiar. It works best as a quick punchline rather than a long gag.
