About this sound

A short Ivona Eric voice rant by Death Driver 5000 from his October 18, 2019 DeviantArt status update about missing out on A Hat in Time at GameStop.

The clip captures a brief, frustrated rant delivered in the flat, robotic tone of the Ivona Eric text-to-speech voice, a sound closely associated with old GoAnimate and Vyond videos. The speaker vents about heading to GameStop to buy A Hat in Time, only to learn the physical copy would not arrive until the following month. Its stiff delivery makes the everyday disappointment feel oddly dramatic and funny, turning a small retail letdown into a moment of exaggerated annoyance that listeners instantly recognise from classic internet rant videos.

Pro tip

Drop it right after a gameplay fail or store letdown, letting the robotic rant land before cutting back to your reaction. Keep it slightly quieter than your main audio so the TTS tone stays clear, and avoid looping it, as the joke wears thin quickly.

How people use it

Reacting to a game release delay in a video.
Memeing a failed trip to buy a game.
Adding a retro Vyond rant to a skit.
Highlighting frustration over sold-out physical copies.
