Toosie Slide is a song by Canadian rapper Drake, released in 2020. Its title references dancer and social media personality Toosie, who helped introduce the accompanying choreography online. The track arrived as short-form dance videos were driving music discovery, and its lyrics provide direct movement cues that made routines easy to recreate. Drake also performed the dance in the official video, filmed largely inside his Toronto home. The combination of a simple routine, memorable hook, and repeatable format helped the song remain useful for dance posts, parodies, and nostalgic edits.
About this sound
A short clip from Drake's 2020 song Toosie Slide, known for its dance instructions and smooth beat, often used in dance videos, edits, and memes.
This clip features part of Toosie Slide, Drake’s laid-back track built around a steady beat and simple dance directions. The relaxed vocal delivery contrasts with lyrics telling listeners how to move their feet, giving the audio an instantly recognizable rhythm. Its concise, instructional phrasing works especially well with choreography, visual transitions, and jokes about following directions. In an edit, the sound can create a cool, controlled mood or add playful irony when the person on screen dances badly, hesitates, or moves in the wrong direction.
