The phrase fire in the hole is a longstanding warning shouted before an explosive is detonated, but this specific distorted shout spread through the Geometry Dash community. Players began spamming the line in levels, comments and edits, turning a simple warning into an in-joke that signalled an explosion was coming. Short video platforms then picked it up, and creators reused the same loud clip far outside the game, pairing it with throws, crashes and fails. Its repetition and exaggerated delivery kept it recognisable even without any Geometry Dash footage.
About this sound
The shouted Fire in the Hole sound effect from Geometry Dash, a short meme scream used in edits for explosions, fails and sudden chaos moments.
A loud male voice shouts Fire in the hole at full volume, stretched and distorted for comic effect. In Geometry Dash the line warns of an incoming explosive in the Fire in the Hole level, but as a meme it became a standalone scream dropped over any impending disaster. The delivery is urgent, panicked and absurdly over the top, so even a tiny mistake feels like a major explosion. Viewers instantly expect something to blow up, crash or go wrong in the next second, which is why the short clip lands as a punchline on its own.
