About this sound

A loud gorilla aaa scream sound effect used in meme edits and reaction videos when a funny, shocking or over-the-top moment needs a wild animal roar.

This clip is a short, exaggerated gorilla-style aaa shout that starts low and bursts into a loud, raspy roar, almost like a cartoon animal losing its temper for a second. It sounds raw and silly rather than realistic, with a rough vocal edge that makes it instantly funny when it cuts through a quiet scene. The sudden volume and animal energy give viewers a jolt of surprise, then a laugh, because the noise feels far bigger and wilder than the moment on screen deserves.

Pro tip

Drop the aaa right on the reaction face or the moment a plan falls apart, and cut the background music briefly so the roar lands cleanly. Avoid looping it or placing it under dialogue, because its loud burst quickly drowns speech and loses its shock.

How people use it

Creators use it for a failed prank reveal.
Editors add it when a character suddenly panics.
Streamers play it after an unexpected game loss.
Meme makers pair it with a wild animal clip.

More information

The exact origin of this short gorilla aaa clip is not documented in the available information, so it is best understood as a user-shared meme sound rather than a line from a known film or show. Online, short animal-style screams like this circulate on soundboards and in short-form edits because they are easy to recognise, quick to drop into a joke and instantly read as chaos. Its appeal as a scream meme has stayed simple: one loud, silly roar can turn an ordinary fail, reaction or surprise into a punchline without any explanation.
