The Griddy began as a dance created by Allen Davis in Louisiana and spread through high school and college football before LSU stars and NFL receivers made it a standard touchdown celebration around 2020. On TikTok and YouTube the steps were paired with short, loopable hip hop tracks that became known simply as the Griddy song, regardless of the exact version. That link to sport, confidence and imitation keeps the clip in constant rotation for edits, dances and parody celebrations online.
About this sound
The Griddy song is the upbeat hip hop track behind the viral touchdown dance, used in sports edits, celebration clips and meme videos online.
This is the short, bouncy hip hop loop that powers the Griddy, the arm-swinging, finger-framing dance made famous by football players after a touchdown. The clip is mostly a repetitive beat with a catchy melodic hook, built to loop cleanly while someone hits the steps on camera. It feels confident and playful rather than aggressive, which is why it works as a victory cue. Viewers instantly read it as a celebration, even without seeing the dance, and creators use that instant recognition to turn an ordinary moment into a mock triumph.
