About this sound

A short Geometry Dash clip saying hire in the hole, used in gameplay edits and memes to mark a sudden drop, fail, or surprise moment in reaction videos.

This is a brief, punchy voice clip built around the odd phrase hire in the hole, delivered in a clipped, energetic tone that lands almost as soon as it starts. Lasting under two seconds, it has the feel of a quick in-game shout or meme catchphrase rather than a full line of dialogue, with the words running together in a way that makes it instantly repeatable. Dropped into a video, it creates a small jolt of absurd humour, signalling that something unexpected, silly, or badly timed is about to happen, and it works best when the visual cuts just as sharply as the sound itself.

Pro tip

Place it on the frame where a player falls or enters a hole, then cut the music for a beat so the phrase stands alone. Pair it with a quick zoom, but do not loop it, as its humour comes from the single abrupt delivery.

How people use it

Creators drop it when a player falls into a pit.
Editors use it to highlight a sudden unexpected gameplay fail.
Streamers play it after a badly timed jump goes wrong.
Meme makers pair it with a surprising hole reveal.

More information

Circulating as a Geometry Dash soundboard clip, this short phrase has found a second life in short gameplay edits and meme videos, where its odd wording is part of the joke. Players recognise the game connection at once, while other viewers simply enjoy the abrupt, nonsensical delivery. Because it is under two seconds long, it is easy to drop into fast-paced edits without breaking the rhythm, and that brevity, combined with its repeatable wording, helps explain why it keeps appearing in reaction clips and fail compilations.
