The phrase hitting my DMT cart comes from online slang for inhaling from a DMT vape cartridge, with cart shortened from cartridge and hitting meaning taking a pull. Short clips using the phrase spread as reaction audio on social platforms, where the appeal is the contrast between a casual action and an intense tripping effect. It is now used less as a literal smoking recording and more as shorthand for breakthrough, spacing out and losing track of reality in meme edits, gaming clips and stoner humour posts.
About this sound
A short clip of someone hitting a DMT cart, used in memes and reaction edits for tripping, spacing out and sudden breakthrough moments online.
This is a brief, lo-fi clip built around the moment of hitting a DMT cart, with the inhale and immediate reaction taking up almost the whole recording. The sound is short and abrupt, which makes the shift feel sudden rather than drawn out. It works less as a full scene and more as a punchline, capturing that instant where someone goes from normal to completely spaced out. Viewers instantly read it as a tripping reaction, and the bluntness of the cut adds to the comedy, making an ordinary moment feel like a rapid mental departure.
