The quote is associated with Dutch van der Linde from Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games' 2018 western action-adventure game. Online, the line spread as a meme because Dutch repeatedly talks about having a plan, turning his confidence into a shorthand for denial and bad decision-making. Creators use the clip in gaming edits, reaction videos, and failure montages whenever someone keeps doubling down instead of changing course. It remains popular because the voice acting is instantly recognizable to players and the setup is easy to apply to almost any obvious mistake.
About this sound
Dutch insists he still has a plan in this Red Dead Redemption 2 quote, a popular game meme sound for ironic confidence and doomed strategy edits.
This clip features Dutch delivering his stubborn “I still have a plan” line in the dramatic, persuasive tone fans know from Red Dead Redemption 2. The delivery sounds forceful and self-assured, but it also carries a hint of denial that makes the moment funny outside the game. That mix is why creators use it when someone keeps pushing a bad idea, overexplains a failing strategy, or refuses to admit things are going wrong. It lands best as an ironic confidence boost right before an obvious mistake, disaster, or chaotic reveal.
