About this sound

Illidan Stormrage whispers 'I know you're still there' from Warcraft. Gamers play it to call out lurking stream viewers or friends who go quiet mid-chat.

This is a two-second whispered voice line in the gravelly, menacing tone of Illidan Stormrage, the blindfolded demon hunter from Warcraft. Delivered low and slow, the line lands like a taunt aimed directly at the listener, equal parts creepy and playful. Creators love it because the short runtime makes it a perfect sting: it cuts through silence, breaks up dead air, and gives the audience a shiver of recognition even if they have never played the game.

Pro tip

Drop it right after a long silence or when chat goes dead during a stream to jokingly accuse viewers of lurking. Keep the volume low so the whisper stays eerie, and pair it with a slow zoom on your facecam. Avoid stacking it with other voice lines or it loses its punch.

How people use it

Calling out lurkers during a quiet livestream.
Taunting a friend who went silent in Discord.
Breaking an awkward pause in a gaming video.
Teasing viewers hiding in a premiere chat.

More information

Illidan Stormrage is one of Warcraft's most iconic villains, the night elf demon hunter voiced by Liam O'Brien who headlined World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade in 2007. His bombastic quotes like 'You are not prepared' became early gaming memes, and shorter whispered lines like this one spread later through YouTube compilations, Twitch soundboards, and Discord sound packs. Streamers adopted it as a lurker callout because the delivery feels personal, as if Illidan himself is watching the chat. It remains a staple of Warcraft-flavored meme audio.
