This clip comes from the introductory trailer for Battlefield 2042, the large-scale multiplayer shooter in the long-running Battlefield series, where the phrase incoming fire signals an attack about to hit. Trailer audio like this often travels beyond its original marketing because gamers recognise the sound instantly and reuse it to set a scene. On soundboards and in short-form edits, it has become shorthand for imminent danger, a quick way to tell viewers that something explosive is about to happen without needing any dialogue or explanation.
About this sound
The incoming fire warning from the Battlefield 2042 trailer, layered with alarms and battlefield chaos for dramatic gaming edits and action montages.
This nine-second clip captures the tense opening of the Battlefield 2042 trailer, where a warning of incoming fire cuts through rising alarms, distant explosions and urgent battlefield noise. The sound builds quickly from a sharp alert into a dense rush of combat, creating a sense of danger and immediacy that makes a scene feel larger and more cinematic. It works because it does not just announce action, it puts the listener in the middle of it, with pressure mounting until the moment feels ready to explode. Creators use it to raise tension before a reveal, a fight or a sudden twist.
