The Joker has been Batman's most famous enemy since his debut in DC Comics in 1940, and his manic laugh has become as recognisable as his grin and makeup. Actors in film and television have each made the cackle more theatrical and unsettling, helping it move into memes, edits and soundboards online. Clips like this one are shared for villain moments and dark humour, often paired in edits with heroes declaring I'm Batman for contrast. Its exact recording source is unclear, but the character reference is instantly understood by comic and movie fans.
About this sound
A chilling Joker creepy laugh sound effect inspired by the Batman villain, perfect for adding menace to horror edits, villain reveals and dark jokes.
This is a drawn out, unsettling laugh in the style of the Joker, starting low and raspy before rising into a manic, echoing cackle that feels deliberately unhinged. The delivery is theatrical and cruel rather than joyful, with uneven breaths and a lingering tail that makes the moment hang uncomfortably. Played over a still face, a dark room or a sudden reveal, it instantly signals that something is wrong and that the character is enjoying it far too much. It turns a normal scene tense and creepy in seconds.
