Kid Goku comes from the original Dragon Ball series, which followed Goku as a child long before the later Z storylines, while Wallace and Gromit are the inventor and dog duo from Aardman's British stop motion films and shorts. Their jaunty theme became widely recognised through television repeats and online clips. Fans pairing the two created a familiar cartoon chase feeling with an anime twist, and the mashup spread on soundboards because both references are instantly readable, family friendly and easy to reuse in short edits.
