The sound features Guts, the central character of Berserk, eating a lemon and reacting to its bitterness. The moment works because it places a famously stoic warrior in a mundane situation, and short clips of it have circulated widely on TikTok and anime meme pages. Editors reuse it as a shorthand for sourness, discomfort, or a small humbling defeat, rather than for a battle scene. Its appeal has lasted because the reaction is instantly readable without context, making it easy to drop into reaction videos, edits, and short-form comedy.
About this sound
Guts from Berserk bites a lemon and reacts to the sour taste in this short anime clip, often used in reaction videos and edits about sour, painful moments.
This clip captures Guts, the grim swordsman from Berserk, taking a bite of a lemon and struggling with the sharp sourness. You hear the crunch of the fruit, followed by his strained, pained reaction as his face contorts and he tries to keep his composure. The contrast between his normally fearless, battle-hardened presence and this small, everyday defeat is what makes it so funny. It turns a tough anime hero into someone instantly relatable, and the exaggerated reaction lands immediately even for viewers who have never watched Berserk.
