Steel Mechorilla is a chimera boss from Mother 3, the 2006 Game Boy Advance RPG and sequel to EarthBound. Half gorilla and half machine, it was built by the Pigmask Army and fights with crushing physical attacks. The extended SMAAAASH wording comes from the Mother series, where it flashes on screen for a critical hit. Because Mother 3 was never officially released outside Japan, clips spread through fan translations, forums and soundboards, where this roar became shorthand for any over the top smash.
