About this sound

Deimos saying mehhh from Madness Project Nexus, a short unimpressed grunt used for reaction edits, memes and gaming soundboard moments online.

The clip is Deimos letting out a flat, drawn out mehhh, a bored grunt that lands somewhere between a sigh and a dismissive bleat. The delivery is deadpan and slightly strained, with no enthusiasm behind it at all, which is exactly why it works as a reaction. Played over a character, enemy or situation, it instantly signals unimpressed disinterest and turns a normal moment into a joke about something being underwhelming, annoying or simply not worth taking seriously in the Madness world.

Pro tip

Drop the mehhh right after a failed stunt, weak reveal or dumb line, then hold a beat of silence before the next cut. Keep it dry and upfront in the mix, and do not stretch it, the flat length is the punchline.

How people use it

Add to a failed jump in a Madness gameplay edit.
Play when a teammate suggests a terrible plan.
Use as a reply to an underwhelming reveal or update.
Drop over a boring enemy encounter for comic effect.

More information

Deimos is one of the central characters in Madness Combat, the violent cartoon series created by Krinkels that began on Newgrounds, and a playable ally alongside Sanford and Hank in Madness Project Nexus. Clips of the characters grunting and reacting have long circulated as isolated sounds outside the games and animations. This mehhh excerpt has been shared on soundboards as a compact reaction, valued by fans who recognise Deimos instantly and by editors who need a short, unimpressed response that fits the series rough, chaotic humour.
