This extended meow is a staple of Brazilian meme culture, where "minhau" imitates the drawn-out sound of a cat meowing in Portuguese. Short meow memes have circulated online for years, but stretched and pitched-up versions became popular on soundboards and in WhatsApp audio chains, where the longer the meow the funnier the effect. It spread through funny video edits, reaction compilations and sticker-style audio packs shared between friends. Today it is mostly used as a lighthearted reaction sound in short-form videos, living alongside other cat laugh and meow memes.
About this sound
A stretched, playful "minhau" cat meow sound used in Brazilian memes and funny edits, perfect for reactions, bait clips and cute animal moments.
This clip takes a simple cat meow and stretches it into a long, warbling "minhauuuuu" that sounds somewhere between a sleepy cat and a cartoon character losing its mind. The pitch wobbles slightly as it goes, which makes it feel goofy and exaggerated rather than realistic. It is the kind of sound that instantly turns a boring moment into a punchline, because the sheer length of the meow becomes the joke itself. Listeners usually laugh before the clip even ends, and it works best when the meow seems to go on just a little too long.
