Nya is Japanese onomatopoeia for a cat's meow, widely used in anime and internet cat girl culture to sound cute and playful. Clips that pair a sweet nya or meow with a sudden gross noise became popular on meme soundboards and in Discord and TikTok edits because the contrast is instantly readable. This version leans into pet owner humor about cats puking on carpets, a familiar joke online, and stays in rotation as a short reaction sound rather than dialogue from a specific show or character.
About this sound
Cute anime cat girl says nya then makes a gross puking sound, a short meme clip used for disgusted reactions and fake cat roleplay jokes online.
This short clip starts with a high pitched anime style nya delivered in a cute cat girl voice, then immediately cuts to exaggerated retching and puking noises. The joke is the sudden switch from adorable to disgusting, as if a pet cat has just been sick on your carpet. The voice performance is intentionally over the top, with gagging sounds that feel wet and gross without being realistic. It lands as a gross out reaction, perfect for moments that are meant to be cute but turn revolting in a second.
