'Op je muil' is Dutch slang for shut your mouth, the kind of blunt street phrase that only works when shouted. The clip is credited to Tiny and Lau in the published notes, and it circulates online as a tiny Dutch reaction sound: one aggressive command with zero padding, which is exactly why meme editors keep it. It thrives in comment wars, roast edits and over-the-top argument sketches, where a half-second Dutch shut-up lands harder than a paragraph of comebacks. Its staying power comes from that universality — everyone has wanted to say it.
About this sound
A short Dutch voice clip of someone shouting 'op je muil' (shut your mouth), credited to Tiny and Lau, used as a shut-up reaction in funny memes and edits.
This 0.76-second Dutch voice clip is a single blunt outburst: 'op je muil', slang for shut your mouth. Delivered as a sudden, aggressive shout with no buildup or softening, it sounds like someone snapping right in the viewer's face. The rawness is the joke — no echo, no music, just one rude command barked out and cut off instantly. According to the published notes the line is credited to Tiny and Lau. Its tiny runtime makes it a punchline delivery system: drop it after someone says something dumb and it lands like a comedic slap.
