Fart sounds have been a staple of slapstick comedy and prank videos for decades, long before they became a meme soundboard favourite, because the noise is universally understood without any language. This short clip circulates online under its Turkish name, meaning a fart, and is used in the same way as other classic cartoon effects: as a quick, wordless joke in edits, streams and short videos. Its appeal has lasted because it needs no context, works in any language and still makes audiences laugh instantly.
About this sound
A short, loud fart sound effect, perfect for pranks, memes and funny edits. Use it to punctuate a joke, a fail or an awkward moment in videos.
This is a short, cartoonish fart sound, just over a second long, with a low, bubbly rasp that rises and pops at the end. It is not realistic or subtle; it is deliberately silly and instantly recognisable, the kind of noise that makes a room laugh before anyone has time to explain it. Played on its own it lands as a quick punchline, but in a video it works best as a reaction to something embarrassing, clumsy or unexpectedly gross. The timing does the comedy: a sudden burst after a pause, a fall or a deadpan stare turns an ordinary moment into something ridiculous and memorable.
