Rebelde is the signature song of RBD, the Mexican pop group created for the Televisa telenovela Rebelde, which aired in the mid-2000s. The song served as the show's theme and the group's breakout hit, performed live on their tours to audiences singing along in Spanish. Its anthemic chorus and close link to the telenovela helped it travel beyond television into fan edits, concert clips and social videos. Renewed interest from reunion performances has kept the live version a shorthand for 2000s Latin pop nostalgia.
