SCP-049, also known as the Plague Doctor, is a fictional entity from the SCP Foundation, a collaborative online horror project built around fictional documents describing anomalous creatures and objects. The character is portrayed as a plague doctor who believes he is curing a deadly pestilence, which has made him a recurring figure in fan animations, games, roleplay videos and horror edits. Short voice clips like this hello circulate because they are instantly recognisable to SCP fans, easy to drop into a scene, and unsettling without needing any explanation of the lore behind them.
About this sound
SCP-049 says hello in this short voice clip from the SCP Foundation horror series. Creators use it for eerie greetings and creepy plague doctor edits.
The clip captures SCP-049, the Plague Doctor, delivering a single calm hello in a measured, almost polite tone that feels wrong coming from a figure associated with disease and death. The voice is clear and close, with no music or background noise to soften it, so the greeting lands as a quiet threat rather than a friendly welcome. That contrast is what makes it effective: listeners expect warmth and instead hear controlled menace, turning a simple word into a moment of unease that works best when it appears suddenly, just as a character turns, a door opens, or a dark scene begins.
