About this sound

The Signal 100 siren tone from Russian emergency vehicles, a loud repeating warning wail. Download the Signal 100 sound effect to add urgency to edits, memes and videos.

This is the instantly recognisable Signal 100 siren tone used on Russian emergency vehicles, a piercing repeating wail that alternates between two high pitches. Lasting about seven seconds, it carries the raw urgency of a police car or ambulance pushing through traffic. The sound triggers an immediate alert response in anyone who hears it, which is why creators use it to signal danger, chaos or a dramatic interruption about to hit a scene.

Pro tip

Drop it the exact frame a surprise entrance, chase or fail begins, and duck it under dialogue rather than letting it play full volume throughout. Never loop it end to end more than once, or the wail loses its punch.

How people use it

Marking a character getting caught red handed
Warning someone before a prank goes wrong
Punctuating a failed escape attempt
Adding urgency to a chase scene edit
