About this sound

A mashup clip mixing Smash Mouth's All Star with Stronger Than You from Steven Universe, used for meme edits, fandom videos and ironic transformations.

This is a fan mashup that layers Smash Mouth's unmistakable All Star vocals over the confident beat and melody of Stronger Than You from Steven Universe. The contrast is instant and funny, turning a sincere anthem about strength and unity into a tongue in cheek pop rock joke. Steve Harwell's laid back delivery clashes with Garnet's determined tone, so every line feels both heroic and absurd. It lands best as a surprise reveal, where a serious moment suddenly becomes a meme without losing the underlying energy of the original songs.

Pro tip

Drop the mashup right on a power up or glow up reveal and let the chorus hit the visual change. Keep dialogue low underneath, avoid adding extra meme sounds, and cut on the beat so the Steven Universe backing stays clean.

How people use it

Revealing a character's unexpected glow up transformation
Scoring a fandom edit about Garnet's strength
Turning a serious training montage into a joke
Adding an ironic hero moment to gameplay clips

More information

Stronger Than You was performed by Estelle as Garnet in the Steven Universe episode Jail Break in 2015, becoming one of the show's most quoted songs. All Star by Smash Mouth was released in 1999 and later became a constant internet meme through Shrek and endless remixes. Fans began mashing cartoon songs with All Star as a running joke, and this version joins that tradition by forcing the two anthems together. It still circulates in fandom edits because both sources remain instantly recognisable to different generations online.
