The exact recording behind this sniff sniff clip is not clearly documented, so it circulates online mainly as a generic reaction effect rather than a quote from a known film or show. Short nose sounds like this became popular on soundboards and in meme edits because they are instantly readable without context. Editors reuse it for animals sniffing, food checks, and awkward close-ups, and its brief length makes it easy to loop, layer, or drop into TikTok and gaming videos without covering dialogue.
About this sound
A short sniff sniff sound effect of someone sniffing twice up close, commonly used in memes and edits for suspicion, curiosity or smelling something strange.
This is a close, exaggerated recording of two quick sniffs through the nose, with a short pause between them. The sound is dry, intimate and slightly cartoonish, making it instantly clear someone is smelling the air on purpose rather than breathing normally. Creators use that clarity for comic timing, because the sniff alone tells the joke without any dialogue. It works as a reaction when a character notices a strange odor, checks food, or acts suspicious around another person, and the repetition gives editors a clean rhythm to cut on.
