Known online by the French title Sorcière rire, meaning witch laugh, this cackle has circulated on soundboards as a generic witch and sorceress effect rather than a clip tied to one confirmed film or game. Its exaggerated, theatrical style fits the classic Halloween witch archetype popular in cartoons, games and seasonal videos. Creators reuse it each October and year round for spooky memes, roleplay edits and reaction clips, because a single cackle instantly communicates magic, mischief and an over the top villain without needing any dialogue or explanation.
About this sound
Witch laugh sound effect of a cackling sorceress with a high, wicked cackle, used for Halloween scenes, spooky edits, villain reveals and gaming moments.
This is a short, theatrical witch laugh, a drawn-out cackle that rises in pitch and breaks into sharp, echoing giggles. It sounds gleefully wicked rather than truly frightening, with the exaggerated tone of a cartoon sorceress enjoying her own spell. The laugh lasts just under four seconds, long enough to land as a punchline but short enough to loop cleanly. Played over a character entrance or a sudden transformation, it instantly signals mischief, magic and a villain who is having far too much fun to be trusted.
