Springtrap debuted as the main antagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's 3, released in 2015 by Scott Cawthon. The withered rabbit animatronic, haunted by series villain William Afton, became one of the franchise's most recognisable figures. His jumpscare scream was clipped and reposted across YouTube, TikTok and soundboards, often remixed or cut short for comedic timing, which explains versions like this one. The sound remains popular because it instantly signals FNAF horror to fans, even when it is used out of context for a joke scare.
About this sound
Springtrap jumpscare sound effect from Five Nights at Freddy's 3, a loud animatronic scream used for horror edits, fake scares and FNAF memes.
This is the sharp, distorted scream that plays when Springtrap lunges at the player in Five Nights at Freddy's 3. It mixes a robotic shriek, harsh static and a sudden burst of volume that hits without warning. At only a few seconds long, the sound works less like a full scare and more like a punchline, cutting in at the exact moment a face fills the screen. Viewers expect something is wrong just before it lands, and that split second of dread followed by the loud, glitchy roar is what makes it so effective in edits.
