The sound comes from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. first person shooter series by GSC Game World, beginning with Shadow of Chernobyl in 2007. Set in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, the games fill the area with mutated wildlife, and the Flesh is one of the most common mutants, a deformed swine like creature that attacks in groups. Players learned to recognise its short attack noise during close encounters. Clips of that hit later spread to soundboards and editing packs, where it is reused outside the game as a generic mutant ambush and jumpscare effect.
About this sound
The short attack sound of the Flesh mutant from S.T.A.L.K.E.R., a harsh creature hit used for game jumpscares, horror edits and sudden mutant ambush moments.
This is a one second burst of the Flesh mutant lunging in S.T.A.L.K.E.R., built from a guttural squeal and a close, fleshy impact. The Flesh is the mutated pig-like creature that charges players in the Zone, and its attack noise is short, ugly and instantly alarming. There is no wind up or music, just the creature hitting its target and the sound cutting off. Dropped over a clip it reads as a sudden ambush, turning an ordinary reveal or close up into a brief horror scare.
