Steve from Minecraft joined Super Smash Bros Ultimate as downloadable content in October 2020, announced in a reveal that surprised both Smash and Minecraft fans. The announcer's call follows the series tradition of shouting each fighter's name for the character select and victory screens. Clips of the call spread through gaming videos, Discord servers and meme edits, where the contrast between the blocky, silent Minecraft protagonist and the announcer's serious dramatic delivery became the joke and kept the sound in regular use.
About this sound
The Super Smash Bros Ultimate announcer shouting Steve from Minecraft, used for character reveals, gaming edits and meme introductions online.
This clip is the official Smash Bros announcer dramatically calling out the name Steve, the Minecraft fighter added to Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The delivery is loud, punchy and instantly theatrical, with a rising energy that makes a simple name announcement feel like a major reveal. At just over a second long, it lands as a clean punchline or introduction, turning any ordinary entrance, username reveal or character pick into a moment that feels epic and slightly absurd at the same time for viewers familiar with the game.
