About this sound

Touma Imagine Breaker sound effect from A Certain Magical Index, the short clip fans use for anime edits, reaction posts and negating a power or argument.

This is a very short anime sound effect tied to Kamijou Touma and his Imagine Breaker ability from A Certain Magical Index. The clip lasts just over a second and delivers a sharp, punchy impact that feels like something supernatural being cancelled out on contact. There is no long build up, just an instant hit that lands with the scene. Used over a video, it makes a block, denial or sudden reversal feel dramatic and final, turning an ordinary moment into a joke about negating powers, luck or an opponent's strongest move completely.

Pro tip

Place the hit exactly on the frame where a hand makes contact or an attack disappears, not a beat before. Keep the original audio low underneath, cut to a brief pause after, and avoid layering other impacts that will mask its short punch.

How people use it

Anime edits where Touma cancels another character's power instantly.
Reaction videos for shutting down an overconfident argument online.
Gaming clips when an ultimate ability gets completely blocked.
Meme posts about bad luck being erased in seconds.

More information

Kamijou Touma is the protagonist of A Certain Magical Index, created by Kazuma Kamachi as a light novel series before its anime adaptations. His right hand, Imagine Breaker, negates magic, esper powers and other supernatural effects on touch, which made him a popular reference in anime fandom. Short clips named after the ability circulated on soundboards and in fan edits during the late 2010s, especially around the third anime season in 2018, and remain shorthand online for instantly cancelling something powerful or unwanted.
