Tron Legacy is Disney's 2010 sequel to the 1982 film Tron, with Jeff Bridges returning as Kevin Flynn, a programmer trapped inside a digital world called the Grid. In the film Flynn uses the phrase bio digital jazz to describe the miraculous isomorphic life forms that appeared there. The short, deadpan delivery later spread on soundboards and in edited clips, detached from the scene. It remains popular because the line sounds sincere and vague at once, making it easy to reuse for technology, glitches and odd digital discoveries.
About this sound
The Tron Legacy clip of Kevin Flynn saying bio digital jazz man, a laid back movie line used as a reaction sound for chill, techy or retro moments.
A relaxed male voice delivers the short Tron Legacy line about bio digital jazz in a calm, slightly spaced out tone. The delivery is slow and mellow, with the final word drawn out like a laid back observation rather than an explanation. There is no big build up or punchline, which is exactly why it works as a reaction. Dropped into a clip, it makes an ordinary digital moment sound profound and a little absurd, as if a strange glitch, program or discovery is something deep, musical and completely natural.
