With no clear credited source, this clip spread as a generic extended scream shared on soundboards and in short video edits. The long spelling of the title mirrors how users search for it, typing more a letters the longer and louder they want the yell to feel. It sits alongside fahhhhhhhhhhhhhh and other stretched reaction cries used for comic panic, and its length sets it apart from a short shout. Editors keep reusing it because a few extra seconds of wailing instantly signals parody rather than real fear.
About this sound
A long drawn out waaaaaaa scream sound effect, an exaggerated high pitched yell creators use for panic, shock and over the top funny reaction moments in edits.
This is a single stretched out scream that starts as a loud wail and keeps going far longer than a normal reaction. The voice holds the waaa sound with a strained, slightly wobbly tone that makes it feel both panicked and ridiculous at the same time. Because it does not cut off quickly, the tension builds while viewers wait for it to end, which turns simple surprise into full melodrama. It works best when a character or creator is meant to look completely overwhelmed by something small.
