This sound circulates online as a reaction clip linked to Wednesday Addams, the famously deadpan Addams Family character whose dry humour made her a favourite for meme edits. Rather than coming from one widely documented scene, it has spread through short-form videos, reaction compilations and soundboards, where creators reuse the elongated ohhh to punctuate shock and sarcasm. Its staying power comes from that recognisable tone: instantly gloomy, unimpressed and funny without needing any dialogue or context.
About this sound
A long, drawn-out ohhh in Wednesday's deadpan style, used in reaction videos and memes for moments of shock, disbelief or dark humour on screen.
This clip is a single, stretched-out ohhh delivered in Wednesday's flat, unimpressed tone, starting low and swelling into a dramatic, almost exasperated sigh. It is not a scream or a laugh, but a slow realisation, the kind of sound that makes a simple reaction feel theatrical and a little bit sinister. Played over a clip, it turns surprise into a punchline, giving the viewer a beat to sit with the awkwardness before the joke lands, and it works because Wednesday never sounds fully surprised, just darkly entertained by the chaos.
