Astronaut In The Ocean was released by Australian rapper Masked Wolf in 2019 and reissued in 2021, when its opening lyric exploded on TikTok. Creators used the rolling down in the deep line over slow zooms, underwater clips, and people sinking into thought, turning a serious track about pressure and depression into a flexible meme format. Remixes, mods, and sped up edits kept it circulating long after the chart run, and the first few seconds remain the part most listeners instantly recognise.
About this sound
The opening lyric from Astronaut In The Ocean by Masked Wolf, used as a meme intro for deep thoughts, reveals and slow motion edits online daily.
This clip is the instantly recognisable opening line from Astronaut In The Ocean, sung in a low, confident flow over a dark, pulsing beat. The singer asks what you know about rolling down in the deep, delivering the words with a heavy, rolling rhythm that feels both laid back and intense. The underwater metaphor and echoing production give it a moody, almost hypnotic pull. Listeners hear it as a build up moment, the calm before a reveal, which is why the line sticks even when the rest of the song is not played.
